The stained-glass of Noirlac, an exceptional contemporary building-site by Marie-Anne Sarda and Jean Mauret
In 1975, Jean-Pierre Raynaud designed about sixty unique stain-glasses for the Abbey of Noirlac. The project’s background and origins, eight of the artist’s original frames, the trial windows and work from stain-glass artist Jean Mauret will be on show. A history of stained-glass art in the second half of the last century will help to grasp the essential position this order represented, a remarkable feat by its uniqueness in contemporary creation.
Marie-Anne Sarda is the chief conservation officer for cultural heritage in the Centre region.
Jean Mauret, stain-glass artist, has created some of the stained-glasses designed by Jean-Pierre Raynaud for Noirlac.
